Hi, I’m Nic Manshon. Creativity, for me, started back when I was drawing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and entering Mother’s Day competitions for KTV. I always loved art as a kid and did it as a subject throughout my schooling career.  If I were to be totally honest, I never saw a career in creativity in high school, even though art was my highest marked subject.  Hence, I went to study personal training straight after high school and thereafter worked for Virgin Active for a while. Soon enough I realized that it wasn’t for me. Nonetheless, I believe nothing is lost with learning. After having these feelings to change my career, I started exploring creativity again. That was a good choice! The journey started out at CPUT, studying industrial design and serving at a local church, heading up the media department. After that, I got a scholarship for digital filmmaking at SAE. I never received a scholarship before so I was super stoked to do the course, not rea

I am currently a third year medical student at the University of Stellenbosch with the hopes of becoming a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. I'm originally from Midrand, Gauteng so Cape Town was a major change for me. Medicine wasn't always a sure path for me but I've always had a keen interest in science, the human body and helping people in whatever way I could. My ambitions scare me sometimes because they are (in societal terms) "impossible" but that word honestly does not exist in my vocabulary. I love challenging myself so in 2015 I entered my very first pageant (Miss Teen Western Cape 2015) and walked away with the First Princess title. That was a humbling experience particularly because the small step of overcoming my fears and insecurities has led to me wanting to be a positive role model in my community and encourage others to chase their dreams no matter the obstacles. I also recently decided to go after ONE (because I have many 😊) of my childhood dreams and joined Grace Model Management. It's been absolutely enlightening(and fun!) so far and I am so excited for the future. I LIVE by quotes and every morning I find a positive quote that sets the tone for the rest of my day. One of my favourites by Henry Ford is "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right".
