My name is Devin Tomlinson and I'm an influencer, leader & motivator, premium spirit brand ambassador, event organizer, marketing consultant and serial entrepreneur.
My youth in Durban was a stark contrast to where I am with my life at this present moment. School days involved sport everyday of the week and a constant craving for learning and absorbing information about the real world. Varsity days at UKZN and migrating in holidays to Cape Town grew my fascination for the entertainment and events realm within the South African landscape. G&G Productions took me under their wing for a couple years part time while studying and got to meet some very influential role players while satisfying my thirst for social interaction and networking with events such as Matric Rage, Durban July and NYE Parties in Durban & Cape Town.
Fast track a couple years and I was the youngest GM of a top entertainment nightlife venue Tokio Nightclub in the heart of Durban. This allowed me to start my own events company to do pop-up niche focused events for customers like Varsity College and various hospitality groups. Bigniteout Productions was another project I worked on which involved some great experience in the events marketing and management realm such as Ballito Pro Surfing Fest, Durban Day, Music @ Makaranga, Fun In The Sun, Gin & Tonic Festival, Durban July Tents & Afterparties as well as various NYE events around the region. All this knowledge and network created culminated in me moving into Halewood International and running their coastal events marketing and strategic brand planning on luxury brands.
Currently also started a huge entreneurship and networking platform for likeminded people to not only enjoy the finer things in life but also to connect on a business level to enhance their own footprint in the South African market providing scalability and route to market for certain industries. This concept is an open platform called The Gentlemen’s Club & The Ladies Club which has been creating some waves and allowing brands a platform to launch their new lines or concepts while having access to the correct millennial target market. The long term vision of this concept is to provide a national network of entrepreneurs from different walks of life and different industries that through globalization and networking can do business more effectively and efficiently growing the economic landscape long term for South Africa.
