Hi, I’m Nic Manshon.
Creativity, for me, started back when I was drawing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and entering Mother’s Day competitions for KTV. I always loved art as a kid and did it as a subject throughout my schooling career.
If I were to be totally honest, I never saw a career in creativity in high school, even though art was my highest marked subject.
Hence, I went to study personal training straight after high school and thereafter worked for Virgin Active for a while. Soon enough I realized that it wasn’t for me. Nonetheless, I believe nothing is lost with learning.
After having these feelings to change my career, I started exploring creativity again. That was a good choice!
The journey started out at CPUT, studying industrial design and serving at a local church, heading up the media department. After that, I got a scholarship for digital filmmaking at SAE. I never received a scholarship before so I was super stoked to do the course, not realizing what the future may hold.

Currently 24 years old, doing my honours in law this year.

Despite me completing it this year I plan to do things much differently than most law students who end up doing articles.

I have been in the South African squad for karate and eventually branched off into mixed martial arts which I plan on taking up again after my honours this year.

I plan on being in the business world and after gaining all the knowledge I need will look at starting a business of my own with my partner who is currently doing his degree in architecture.

I suppose I realised at a very young age that it's not what you have behind your name but who you know and how you are able to network in order to move forward. I have taken much of my drive and inspiration from @garyvanerchuck. Who in my honest opinion is someone each person needs to listen to.

I have also realised that one should never let your circumstances be the reason you don't aspire to do something in life and that there is always someone worse off than you who is working even harder than you are.

I plan on making decisions in the next 5 years of my life which will be questionable amongst my peers as I believe in taking risks and reaping the benefits when I'm much older. I'm willing to sacrifice the glamorous lifestyle for now in order to achieve an end goal.

On that note I have my goals, all set out and I believe in the saying your actions speak louder than words.

With that being said after my honours is where my life officially begins, and it won't be the last time Cape Town will hear my name.
